Event

The redoubt of the Upper Danube Bastion was completed in 1855; the building has been a designated historic landmark since 1974. The defensive barracks (redoubt) were intended to house soldiers and cannons to defend the city against attackers. However, in its more than 150-year history, not a single shot has ever been fired from this nearly 140-meter-long military structure. Since 2000, the Danube Swabian Central Museum has been using the premises of the former barracks.
