Even the festival opener features audience favorites in the tent: Gerhard Polt and the Well brothers will open the festival in Friedrichsau on May 20 with their entertaining "Bavarian evening of a special kind". Far removed from the white-blue Weißwurst idyll and beer bliss, Polt, a connoisseur of human nature, reflects the abysses of "Bavaria itself" in his panopticon Bavaricum.
