5/8erl in Ehr'n are a rare species. It's no coincidence that they work everywhere - on mainstream radio as well as on alternative stations, in the theater and at the outdoor pool. They radically search for what connects us - with a sound that lies somewhere between Aretha Franklin, Buena Vista Social Club and Helmut Qualtinger. Their style? Viennese soul. Their themes? The poison of our time and what is balm for the soul.

With their seventh album "Burn On!", 5/8erl in Ehr'n are both patients and remedies. In nine songs, they address an exhausted society and contrast it with the interpersonal. What is really good for us? A simple sentence like "Let's talk briefly, just give us some time" can have a radical effect. A line like "Nix gemeinsam gmacht, weder gweint noch glacht" feels frighteningly familiar. This is precisely why this band is so touching: they often quietly and softly allude to what is neglected in everyday life.

For 19 years and over 1000 concerts, Clemens Wenger, Robert Slivovsky, Hanibal Scheutz, Miki Liebermann and Max Gaier have given themselves time to grow together - with an independent label, in DIY mode and with the audience behind them. Their creative process? Listening to each other instead of asserting themselves. Less self-centeredness, more curiosity for the world of others. And that's exactly what you can feel in their music.
