Under the subtitle "Dance becomes Art", the Edwin Scharff Museum is highlighting the many facets of artistic dance in a double exhibition. Part 2 focuses on the highlights of expressive dance in the 1920s. Around 1900, the new artistic dance not only liberated the body from corsets and convention. It became subjective, emotional and free. Above all, it claimed to be a genre in its own right. Gradually, different directions and styles developed. In this exhibition, the museum traces the exciting dialog between dance and contemporary art in sculptures, graphics, photographs and costumes.
