Around 300 kilometers separate Ulm and Koblenz as the crow flies, but in this piece, the two cities move closer together artistically. Steffen Fuchs, ballet director at the theater, and Ulm dance theater director Annett Göhre are daring to experiment. Both are developing their own choreography and rehearsing it with their company and the other's ensemble. They are in constant communication about their dance visions.

The resulting "Creative Dialogues" will be performed almost simultaneously in Ulm and Koblenz and presented by the companies there.

The personalities the dance theater is about form an unusual pair: Simon de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre. They had a sensational relationship for 51 years, never lived under the same roof, were on first-name terms throughout their lives and allowed each other the freedom of parallel affairs: a love with its own rules.

Sartre and de Beauvoir also entered into an intense dialog as philosophers and political pioneers, providing impetus and inspiration for the two choreographies in this world premiere.
