The Ulm Theater in about fifty years' time: The curtain has not been raised for a long time, the building serves as a retirement home for the ageing ensemble. The bones are rotten, the false teeth are slipping, but that can't stop the greying mimes from reviving the 'good old days' on stage in the evenings. They sing the hits of their youth at the top of their voices, fervently recite Shakespeare, dream themselves back to 'sex, drugs and rock'n'roll' and engage in vain competitive battles with relish. Only the nursing sister is a nuisance: she constantly spoils the mood with her songs about illness and infirmity...
