Summer, castle, music and culture - and all for the ninth time. "Storm the castle" returns this summer in its usual form and offers a varied program over three weekends at Wilhelmsburg Castle. Numerous concerts in the inner courtyard for young and old, a colorful family and children's program and plenty of other reasons to spend the summer at the castle. The festival will be officially opened on July 23 by Lord Mayor Martin Ansbacher. As always, admission is free.
Another good reason to visit: the Open Tower is entering its second round! After the extremely successful pioneering phase in 2024 with around 12,000 visitors, this year we are launching the second test phase together with Stürmt die Burg. With well-known gym users, new creative projects and a longer period of time, this year we are revitalizing the Kehlturm in summer and into winter.

Our first act this year:

FATCAT are coming to Ulm on their FOREVER tour, with a show that's less concert and more full-throttle experience: funky, loud, emotional and absolutely danceable. Nights that burn and music that you can still feel weeks later. Thick grooves, disco vibes, fat brass sections and beats that won't let you stand still. And of course: Kenyatta Joyner's voice - warm, powerful, unmistakable. This is not a show like any other. This is a celebration! A night for you, for us, forever!

Open Tower 2.0 - art, creativity and exchange
This year, the Kehlturm is once again part of the festival: the open cultural space for creative projects is entering its second round in the Open Tower format. Following the successful first test phase, the concept will be further developed this year and this time will even be brought to life over a longer period of time.
Visitors can expect a diverse mix of interactive installations, exhibitions, open studios, Ulm craftsmanship and scientific formats. Some projects specifically invite active participation - from collaborative design to experimental formats at the interface of art, culture, technology, science and society.
The tower thus becomes a lively place for exchange and encounters that constantly opens up new perspectives. Those who make it to the top are rewarded with a roof terrace with a rooftop bar and a wonderful view over the whole of Ulm.
