Throughout his life, the sculptor, draughtsman and author Ernst Barlach (1870-1938) was intensely preoccupied with the subject of love - both in his private life and in his sculptural and graphic works. For him, love as a fundamental human emotion was far more than the relationship of a conventional couple, as the Edwin Scharff Museum shows in a new special exhibition.
