Controversial, contested, and celebrated: The Stadthaus opened in 1993, right next to Ulm Cathedral. For over 100 years, the people of Ulm had fought for appropriate development on Münsterplatz. Since 2019, the Stadthaus (architect: Richard Meier) has itself been designated a historic landmark. The exhibitions are open daily, with free admission!

On Open Monument Day, there will be guided tours of the Stadthaus offering a variety of perspectives:
11:30 a.m.
Guided tour with “insider” Uwe Kristall, who has been an exhibition supervisor at the Stadthaus for 18 years
1:00 p.m.
The Stadthaus and Münsterplatz—the happy ending to a never-ending story. Guided tour with Alexander Wetzig, retired mayor for urban development and member of the jury for the architectural competition for the Stadthaus
3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The Stadthaus—a walk-through sculpture. With Silvia Keppler, artist, cultural educator, and architecture student

3:00–5:00 p.m. for children & families:
The Münster, the Castle, and the City Hall – stories about the buildings for everyone ages four and up, freely told by Tine Mehls. Plus, there are sandboxes full of treasures!
