Josh is from Vienna, a city full of contrasts between tradition and modern pop culture, which has had a profound influence on him. He was exposed to music at an early age and began playing classical guitar at the age of eight. Later, Eric Clapton’s “Unplugged” reignited his passion for the instrument. He made his first attempts at songwriting as a teenager in school bands before delving deeper into music. After training in classical and jazz, he consciously turned toward a freer approach to music.

He made his breakthrough in 2018 with the hit “Cordula Grün,” which reached millions of streams and won multiple awards. His debut album, “Von Mädchen und Farben,” was also a huge success. With his second album, “Teilzeitromantik,” and songs like “Expresso & Tschianti,” he cemented his status as a successful pop artist in the German-speaking world. This was followed by extensive tours and numerous awards.

After taking a break for health reasons, he released his third album, “Reparatur,” in 2023, which reached No. 1 on the charts for the first time. His live performances remain a central part of his career, highlighted by sold-out tours and a concert at the Wiener Stadthalle. Josh is currently working on new music for his fourth album and remains a defining voice in Austrian pop music.
