Hardly any other European rock band has achieved as many milestones as The Rasmus. Over several decades, the Finns have continually evolved their sound, shaping an entire genre in the process. The Rasmus formed in the mid-1990s as a school band in Helsinki. Frontman Lauri Ylönen founded the band together with bassist Eero Heinonen, guitarist Pauli Rantasalmi, and drummer Jarno Lahti. After a few lineup changes, they quickly gained attention in their home country thanks to their distinctive style. Since their funk-inspired beginnings on their debut album *Peep* (1996), they have consistently evolved their style; today they are known for their atmospheric, almost anthemic rock. Their international breakthrough finally came in 2003 with “Dead Letters” and the accompanying single “In The Shadows.” This was followed by millions of records sold, various platinum certifications and music awards, as well as international tours. And even after that, the band kept moving forward, continuously releasing music and reinventing themselves time and again. With their latest album, “Weirdo” (2025), The Rasmus are now beginning a new chapter. The lyrics explore themes that run like a common thread through their career: identity, being an outsider, and the feeling of not belonging. Musically, they blend dark atmospheres, catchy rock choruses, and modern sounds into their unmistakable, unique blend. What has always set the band apart is their stage presence; every show thrives on dynamism, energy, and a palpable connection with the audience. Whether on major festival stages, during international tours, or most recently at special performances like the charity concert at the Atlas Festival in Ukraine: The Rasmus have mastered the art of bringing people together. In early 2027, audiences will finally have the opportunity once again to experience this very intensity live at five exclusive shows in Germany!
