“Strangers are people, too,” as the saying goes. So what do we see when we meet others for the first time? Friends or foes? With *At the Heart of It All*, INTER-ACTIONS delves into the heart of this question and invites two new dancers to each performance.

Two people who have never met before come together live in front of an audience. The atmosphere is set by a powerful live concert featuring songs created exclusively for this piece. Accompanied by the music and choreographic instructions from offstage, the dancers get to know each other and let us share in this delicate process of turning strangers into people.

The INTER-ACTIONS Dance Company is a contemporary dance company based in Heidelberg, founded by choreographer Edan Gorlicki. The group views its name as both a communicative mission and a statement of purpose. In this spirit, dance productions are created in close collaboration with the people around them. While developing their professional, contemporary dance pieces, the artists of INTER-ACTIONS engage with experts and individuals personally affected by the subject matter, and they explore their own body language in regular workshops with people from the region.

Edan Gorlicki’s works are known for evoking multifaceted, complex, and thought-provoking experiences. They often explore social, psychological, or emotional dimensions while playfully questioning the role of the audience. With *The Players* (2015), *Boiling Cold* (2016), *Lucky Bastards* (2017), *Sexless Babe* (2018), *What Do We Do* (2019), *Impact* (2020), *RE-COVER* (2021/2022), Molecular Scars (2022), Grit (2023), For sure it will be fine (2024), This is complex (2025), and Flashback (2025), the company has created productions in recent years that have been presented in Groningen, Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Erfurt, Ulm, Cologne, Freiburg, Mannheim, and Heidelberg, and two of which were awarded the Dance and Theater Prize of the City of Stuttgart and the State of Baden-Württemberg.
