Organiser ROXY gGmbH:

“Put the Flag Away!” is a reflection on what truly represents us. It’s about the feeling of being part of something bigger—something that may or may not shape and define us. Does my country’s flag represent me, or am I the one who represents my country?

This isn’t about cultures, skin colors, or nationalism, but rather about the subjective and fragile sense of belonging—a feeling that allows us to distinguish between “home” and “crowds,” between “hugs” and “public transportation.” It invites us to take a step back and shift our gaze from the inside out.

How do we relate to our surroundings? To what extent do we shape a place—and to what extent does that place shape or define us as people?

“Put the Flag Away!” is conceived as an idea that extends beyond the stage and, in the best-case scenario, can become a way of being. The performance invites the audience to reexamine their own way of being and sense of belonging. Ultimately, it shows that our identity is shaped far more by our experiences, stories, and feelings than by the flag under which we stand.

About the Company

Moving Toppings is an up-and-coming dance collective led by Júlia Chacón I Espí and Letícia Conduto. Since its founding in 2023, the collective has been developing contemporary dance productions that combine physical expression with socially relevant issues.

Their first work, *Does Your Mom Know You’re Here?* (a co-production with Strado Compagnia Danza), received an award at the 2024 Corpo Mobile Festival in Rome. This was followed by *Ancestors’ Land* as part of the production *FOUR WALLS, FIVE WALLS* (premiered in Barcelona in 2025) and *Grandmas Have Names Too!*, which was created in 2025 with support from the City of Ulm’s project funding program.

In addition to its stage productions, MovingToppings regularly holds workshops and has been a guest at events such as Tanz – Made in Ulm and the ZANT Dance Festival.
