The jungle of Costa Rica is older than any civilization. However, millions of hectares of rainforest are now being cut down every year. Globalization, consumption and the resulting climate change are the main causes of this. As a result, the human connection to the rainforest is also being lost.
What does the sight of the rainforest trigger in us today? What is the reality of this forest? And how can we humans overcome the distance between us and the rainforest?
Alexander Honold, born in Ulm in 1995, grew up in Dornstadt. While studying biology at the University of Ulm, he also attended the Universidad de Costa Rica in San José, where he took courses exclusively on ecological topics.
